The Seattle Center is a huge park/entertainment complex near downtown Seattle. Its most famous landmark is the Space Needle. The site was developed for the Seattle Worlds fair of 1962 and has become the icon of the city. Most recently, the Experience Music Project (EMP), designed by Frank Gehry, has been located within the Seattle Center, including a tunnel for the Seattle Monorail to go through it.
