Freeway Park
Freeway Park was built as a lid to the portion of I-5 which cuts through downtown Seattle. It helps to reconnect neighborhoods and provides a place for office workers and urban residents to relax. It also muffles the noise pollution from the freeway though a series of waterfalls. It has brutalist concrete slabs jutting out from all angles, which contrasts with the waterfalls and greenery but makes the park a bit of a maze which has led to some issues with security and crime. However, it is a very nice place to visit and certainly beats an uncovered freeway slicing the city in the half.
