The Grand Canal is Venice’s equivalent to the US central city freeway. It is where much of the boat traffic is funneled. There are only three bridges over the Grand Canal, but there are numerous ferry crossings. Frank Lloyd Wright designed a building which was never built for a piece of real estate on the Grand Canal.
