Potsdamer Platz
Potsdamer Platz was one of the busiest commercial centers in Europe until destroyed in 1943 by allied bombing. The boundary between the British and Russian sectors went through the middle of Potsdamer Platz, making it a no-man’s land and all remaining buildings were torn down. With the fall of the Berlin Wall, it became the largest construction site in Europe with many new offices, shopping centers and a new central train station being developed.
